Being able to help people in a society where health and wellness is #1; massage therapy was the perfect choice! She attended the Ontario College of Health & Technology where she pursued her passion in massage therapy; and graduated with Honours. She has an incredible love for her work and is dedicated to helping others. IMG_9807Kristen De Silva Piques is a very outgoing, caring person who has had a great deal of experience working with the public and patients at Vital link Wellness Centre. Kristen previously practiced as a Colon Hydrotherapist at Vital Link Wellness Center where she worked for 3 years. After years of practice Kristen wanted to expand her knowledge and understand the human body in greater detail. With Kristen’s motivation in 2014 she began her dream and started her path to become a massage therapist. Kristen’s way of treating is to find the root of the problem and use the array of specialized skills and techniques she is trained in and apply them to get the best results. Massage therapy, although very relaxing can be therapeutic and helpful for people with pain and discomfort.


Katie Dickey is an energetic and positive individual who has a passion for helping others reach their greatest potential. Growing up Katie was Katie Dickey Headshotinvolved in many competitive sports including soccer, hockey, basketball and cross-country. Katie’s passion for sports and helping others led her to coach youth soccer both recreationally and competitively. Through her many years involved in sports and with athletes she experienced many injuries and thus her interest in injury rehabilitation and health and wellness flourished. This interest led Katie to attend Wilfrid Laurier University where she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2020 with a concentration in Health and Rehabilitation and a minor in psychology. Katie continued her love for competitive sports throughout university as she played on the varsity women’s soccer team. Her passion for learning and wanting to make a positive impact on others led her to complete her Massage Therapy diploma from the Ontario College of Health and Technology in 2021. She hopes to be able to incorporate her athletic background and knowledge to improve the health and wellness of others.



Dr. Shiyama Hassan is an International Medical Graduate MD. After coming to Canada she has worked at McMaster Children’s Hospital as a clinical fellow. During this period she was registered with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. She has also studied at Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. She is a Licensed ND registered with College Of Naturopaths Of Ontario. She is a member of Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

Additional Training in Chemical Imbalances In The Brain:

When there is a chemical imbalance of the neurotransmitters in the brain, these neurotransmitters do not function well which can cause mood disorders like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorders). From history and blood tests it is possible to know if there is chemical imbalance and appropriate treatment can be given.

Dr. Hassan believes healing involves healing of the whole person; body, mind, and spiritual healing. Hence she may incorporate Reiki healing in her mode of treatment for those people who wish to incorporate Reiki.

After passing the prescribing exam, now she is able to prescribe certain medications like Bioidentical Hormones (BHRT) and vitamin injections.

Before this he went to Brock University in 2011 with a keen interest in both fitness and rehabilitation. He spent time during his undergrad volunteering at a physiotherapy clinic as well as working with seniors and athletes as a trainer. Immediately after graduating in 2015 he took a job as a Physiotherapy Support Personnel which he did until September 2018. During this time Matt came across Osteopathy and knew he wanted to pursue a career in it.



IMG_8972Lisa Nugent is no stranger to Vital Link. In 2009, she came in for an appointment and knew she wanted to be a part of the team. A week later she answered a job posting for an Office Manager and joined Vital Link. Lisa has always had an interest in health and wellness. She comes from a family involved in competitive sports and enjoys watching her two girls compete and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

After years of clinic management, her admiration of Osteopathic Manual Practice grew and she decided to return to school to follow her passion.

Carole worked in a clinical setting, providing health care to her patients. She did this with passion. After practising for 4 years as a Registered massage Therapist, she proceeded into an intense Osteopathic program. She continued her practice and studied Osteopathy at the same time. After completing her program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Holistic Health Sciences she began to practice and loves it.

Carole has had the opportunity to educate the public by speaking about various subjects about health and fitness. Being in the health care profession has helped Carole become a strong, compassionate, caring person, her flourishing practise demonstrates this.

Carole takes a personal interest in her client’s health and life. Carole believes that Health is a state of mind. She encourages positive self image and instils her passion to all she meets, she does this with a smile.

Melissa attended Brock University for Physical Education and Kinesiology and studied the complexities of the human body and how it works. Suffering from back pain and digestive issues, Melissa received her first Osteopathic treatment while in her final year of university and immediately knew that this would be her next step in her education. Melissa has a positive outlook on health and believes that the body is a self-healing and self-regulating mechanism. Following these principles and integrating the body, mind and soul, Melissa looks forward to continuously sharing her passion for Osteopathy and serving the community to the best of her ability.
