Career Overview

Jeremy has been interested in Health Sciences from an early age as he personally struggled with chronic low back and hip pain early in his teenage years and had to work to find a personal solution. His parents focused upon the innate ability of the body to heal itself and always promoted proper nutrition, rest and manual body work when seeking health and healing. His exposure to these principles are most definitely what set him down his current path with Osteopathy.

After being exposed to Exercise Health Science in high school this led Jeremy to attend McMaster University where he studied Kinesiology and focused his academics towards Neuromuscular Sciences, Psychology and Neuroscience. He graduated with Honours in the first ever class awarded a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

At the close of his University degree and with a twist of fate, he had the opportunity to experience a treatment using Classical Osteopathic methods and that made his next decision for him. He immediately applied to the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) located in Hamilton, Ontario and registered as a student. In his time at the CAO, Jeremy earned the Osteopathic Thinking award all 4 years and completed the program the top of his class, earning the AT Still Medal of Honour and his Master in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (MOMSc). Post-graduation, Jeremy continued his time at the CAO in the teacher training program where he was heavily involved in developing curriculum and custom courseware. In this time he also maintained a practice through the CAO professional clinic.

In March 2014 Jeremy took the step to opening his own professional clinic Bannock’s Body Mechanics and has been using this as a platform to educate the public and his patients about Osteopathic principles and practices. His primary passion in clinic is educating people in regards to how their Anatomy and Spinal Mechanics can work for them, or against them, and how we all must strive to balance our lifestyles to include focus upon balancing physical, mental and spiritual needs if we are to obtain optimal health. It is with great pleasure that Jeremy is joining the team at Vital Link Wellness and hopes that he can help the Osteopathic light spread through his work with everyone at the new clinic!
